R. Walker Byers, M.D., performs open Roux-en-Y gastric bypass and Lap-Band procedures. Dr. Byars practices at The Surgical Clinic of North Mississippi in Oxford. He is vastly experienced in laparoscopic general surgery and specializes in bariatric surgery. Dr. Byers earned his medical degree from The University of Mississippi Medical Center, where he later completed his internship and general surgery residency. He is a member of the American College of Surgeons, American Society of Bariatric Surgeons, American Medical Association, among many others. Dr. Byer is certified by the American Board of Surgery.
