William M. Steely, M.D., has performed over 1,000 bariatric surgeries including gastric bypass and Lap-Band. Dr. Steely currently practices as part of the Gateway Health System in Clarksville, Tenn. Dr. Steely earned his medical degree from the University of Louisville, Ky. He later completed a residency at the Eisenhower Medical Center in Augusta, Ga. In 1987, Dr. Steely created a bariatric program at Fort Campbell, Ky., that is still used when trained surgeons are assigned there today.
